Bob was 61 and Joyce was 54 so yes, they still are the oldest team to, to rephrase, survive four rounds.

I think they are the oldest racers ever to go on the race.  I don't know about TAR 1, but I doubt any of them are older.  Don is 69 and Mary Jean is 66.  No other Teams are the same or older than any of them.
The funny thing is, I didn't realise that until after they said so because they seem to be fitter than some of the other older Teams.  Also comparing them to Peggy/Claire (TAR 2, and who were 63/65 years old), Don/Mary Jean are very fit according to their age.

Yes. They are very fit for old people, especially MJ. I still remember when my grandparents were that age (3 or 4 years ago) and they weren't as fit (not even close) as Don and MJ.

my grandfather was a tin can sailor... he is 82, but he looks like he's about 55. If my grandfather ran this race, he'd kick some major a**.

I don't know about Dave and Margaretta (Tar 1 or 2) they might be close. However, Don and MJ ARE the oldest team to ever compete, and have done a damn good job thus far.

thank you for clearing that up. but still, i just want to make don's statement better: he should have said that ("we're the oldest team to reach this far") on their first interview.

dave and margaretta were eliminated 4th, before matt/ana, kim/leslie and pat/brenda.

They tried their best and ran a respectable race.  I think they placed about what they earned as racers, and for their age they did a damn fine job.

Cool Cool Great job Don and MJ!  Cool Cool

They would have defeated Lori and Bolo I think, if they found the cluebox immediately in the Broken Chain monument. Then again that's like saying Lena and Kristy wouldn't have been eliminated if they found the Hay Clue immediately.  Roll Eyes
