But Lena/Kristy never gave up at all, even Phil was sad that they had to go.

Well, that's like saying it was Tammy's fault that she missed the red bean. If you can come up an excuse for Tammy's fault, then you can apply that to Lena, since it's basically the same thing. Wink
 
Plus, people remember them because they didn't quit even if took them 8 hours. They didn't give up. If you look for articles about their elimination, you'll notice that most admired them for their never-give-up attitude.
 
They were 3rd place in Leg 1 (arriving at the same time with Kris/Jon), 9th in Leg 2, (they got lost, but who doesn't?), and they bounced back from last place leaving the Pit Stop in Leg 3 to 4th (or 5th?) arriving at the hay bale Roadblock. That shows racing skills to me. They might have sucked at 1 task but it doesn't make them incompetent.

Lena/Kristy had consistent bad navigation errors that almost ended them in back of the pack like getting to the subway in last in Chicogo, almost got eliminated in second leg, arrived 2nd in Iceland, got to first clue 8th, couldn't find Phil at the Lagooon...
 
The thing was Lena searched through 4 seperate hay bales that had clues in them, and she missed them.  That is very bad mental errors that she couldn't even spot them.  All that wasted time 8 hours was because of that. .  
 
Oh yeah, and Tammy didn't take 8 hours to search for her bean.

Well she was looking inside a few square feet of beans and didn't have to use muscles. Wink
