* Heather and Charla and TARfan1 and Gretchen arrive at the pitstop at the same time. Heather and TARfan1 sprint toward the mat, and arrive at the same time! That leaves Charla and Gretchen to battle it out. In an epic Tyler/Monica race to the check-in mat Charla weasles her way in for 7th. While Gretchen settles for 9th.

Leg 5 Summary

Compliments of Alexander

After the mandatory 12-hour rest period, Racedude and John Vito opened their clue to discover they had to fly to Dakar, Senegal their next clue would be waiting outside the airport, for this flight teams had to sign up for 1 of 10 flights each with a different route to Senegal, the problem was the teams had no way of knowing which would land faster, also each flight could only contain one team thus making the flight chase harder.

Eventually every team arrived to the airport in search of a flight; once they all had their flight they started boarding. JP and Mirna got a heads up when they landed first on Senegal, opening their next clue they discovered they had to use the poem included in their clue, which was entitled La Femme, to find out who the author was. Once they had found out who the author was, they had to drive to the cemetery where he was buried.

Arriving almost three hours behind Tarfan1 and Gretchen, John Vito and Racedude, Genius and Chris and Peetah and Aaron arrived at Senegal and raced down to look for the information. As littleboy and Mary and Popo and Marion arrived at 10:10 pm, Racedude and John Vito found their next clue instructing them to Drive to the village of Kayar and find their next clue at a carpenters shop along the beach.

Popo and Marion found their next clue just as the next flight containing Alexander and Kellie touched ground, Littleboy and Mary followed close. As the last two flights containing el sheik and Chip and Heather and Charla respectively arrived at Senegal everyone but Alexander and Kellie and Genius and Kris had gotten their next clue. Making their way to the village, Genius and Kris over looked it thus having to make a u turn in order to get in it, commenting on their mistake Genius hoped not getting last for it.

Teams raced to the village but in the end t was Alexander and Kellie who got there first to find a Detour, in this Detour teams had to choose between Stack Em Up or Pull Em Up, in Stack 'Em Up, teams had to carry baskets of fish sufficient to properly cover a drying table. In Pull 'Em Up, teams had to travel out on fishing boats and had to use traditional fishing gear to catch four fish.

Choosing o Stack Em Up, Kellie started working as Alexander said he couldnt do it due to him being vegetarian. Meanwhile on road to their Detour Marion made a shocking revelation when she confessed she have decided to give up going to New Zealand, because she now wanted to visit Beijing.

Opening their clue Mirna and JP discussed which Detour to do, it concluded with JP telling Mirna Just do it, OK?
After some moments of stacking Mirna started complaining because she found the task nasty, making JP tell her to shut it, the bickering continued until the point where JP called Mirna delusional, angered and frustrated Mirna shouts back: IM NOT DEELUSIONAL! her shout is so loud even Heather and Charla, who are fishing near by, can hear it, making Charla get worried and Heather say they are like a married couple.

After JP gives no sign of regret, Mirna decides to sit at the side of the challenge while crying. This fight brings other teams different reactions, Kris and Genius comment on how they need counseling, while t unleashes a fight between Kellie and Alexander, Kellie wants to go cheer Mirna up while the Alexander wants to finish the task and doesnt wants Kellie to get involved, after saying: Wheres your sensitive side?! Kellie walks towards Mirna leaving Alexander do the task by himself.

Getting bored quickly of the Stack Em Up detour, Kris and Genius decide to start throwing fishes at other players thus starting a fish fight, angered by the waste of food Marion paper cuts both the fish fight starters, Genius slaps Marion in response who body slams him back, to which Genius responds by paper cutting Marion, just when Marion is about to take out her weapon to deal with kids, the Amazing Race Staff intervenes to remove it from her.

Suddenly and out of nowhere fish started falling from the sky (the truth is Arch Angel catapulted them from Sequesterville), luckily the teams managed to finish their detours with Peetah and Aaron on the head for the Stack Em Up detour and Tarfan1 and Gretchen for the Pull Em Up Detour.

Opening their clues the teams found a Roadblock, in this roadblock, one team member had to harvest enough salt from the bed of Lac Rose to fill a 25 gallon basket.

Popo and Marion discussed which one of them should do the roadblock as both said to be experts with salts, at the same time JP and Mirna continued to bicker over if JP was doing the Roadblock correctly, now everyone was working hard on the hard roadblock, but Popo excelled and finished first receiving their next clue instructing him and Marion to take a ferry to Goree Island and once there search between the islands with the one with the mat.

Speeding up in second place were Heather and Charla with Genius and Kris just seconds behind. Once again every team was on their way to the pitstop, luckily JP and Mirna managed to find the island first securing a first place ending and winning a seven-night cruise vacation to the Western Caribbean provided by Royal Caribbean International. Arriving in a close second were Popo and Marion and some time later Racedude and John Vito checked in in third place.

Minutes later Littleboy and Mary take fourth while Genius and Kris take fifth, making Kris shout We are no longer on the backpack baby! Some time later Alexander and Kellie arrived in sixth place. Then Heather and Charla and Tarfan1 and Gretchen arrive at the pitstop at the same time, Heather and Tarfan1 sprint towards the mat and arrive at the same time, meanwhile Gretchen and Charla battle it out, at the end Charla manages to slip into 7th leaving Tarfan1 and Gretchen in 8th.

Some time later Peetah and Aaron arrive expecting the worst, but then as they are recognized as team number 9 they see el sheik and Chip running towards the mat, being the last team to arrive the guys expect to be told they have been eliminated but instead Phil tells them this is the first of four pre-determined non eliminating legs and they are still in the race.

However they have been marked for elimination and if they dont finish in the TOP 3 this coming leg theyll have a time penalty, glad they can still race el sheik and Chip go get some sleep.

el_sheik_doufa and Chip - 23.0

Clue: Fly to Munich, Germany. Once there, find the Friedensengel statue and then search for the Kasperle puppet.
