Leg 8 Summary

Compliments of Alexander

Departing from the pit stop in first place Racedude and John Vito opened their clue to discover they were now flying to Paris, France. Once in Paris teams had to take a train to the city of Le Mans and find the Circuit Buggati to retrieve their next clue.
With every team right behind a race to claim a ticket in the earlier flight started, at the end Racedude and John Vito along with Littleboy and Mary & Genius and Kris claimed the three spots in the first flight leaving the rest of the teams in the second one. On the plane Aaron tried a move on Mirna just to be swung away by the lawyer, seeing Mirnas over the top reaction Charla suggested she had forgotten her medication.

Getting to Paris teams scrambled around to find the best train, at the end Racedude took the first train with a lead of almost one full hour! In the 1:00 pm train were Littleboy and Mary. While Pettah and Aaron and Kris and Genius were 38 minutes behind, on the train Aaron tried to hit on Kris. The rest of the teams were in a 2:00 pm train.

Getting to the roadblock with a big lead Racedude and John Vito discovered for this one they had to choose a team member who would have to put four wheels on a racecar and then do a lap with the driver for their next clue. However the roadblock proved to be a challenge for Racedude as other teams started catching up with him, finally all the teams were competing against each other for finishing first, Tarfan1 managed to pass clueless Racedude to gain the lead and her next clue which instructed her and Gretchen to drive to the city of Marseille and find the city port, then they had to enter through port 4 and find their next clue.

Speeding up with a little lead Gretchen and Tarfan 1 they commented on the pride it was to finally complete a task in first place. Racedude finished the task next with Aaron and Genius close behind, meanwhile the other three teams struggled with the wheels. As they searched for the lighthouse Genius and Kris commented on how hard it was to spot it.

Racedude and John Vito regained their lead by finding the lighthouse first and found a clue to their detour, in this detour teams had to choose between ropes or slopes. In Ropes, teams had to rapel 230 feet down the side of a cliff and follow the marked path for their next clue. In Slopes, teams had to walk down a sloping path for their next clue.

Choosing to head to ropes Racedude and John Vito continued to enjoy their lead. While the teams continued to search for the lighthouse the rest of the teams except for Littleboy and Mary finished the Roadblock. JP and Mirna managed to find the lighthouse before the other teams did gaining some sort of lead over the rest, Heather and Charla also managed to find the lighthouse while the rest of the teams seemed lost in space, Peetah and Aaron finally droved the lost teams to the lighthouse where they found their next clue.

Every team went for ropes except for Genius and Kris and Peetah and Aaron who went for Slopes, meanwhile Littleboy continued to laze around the roadblock, Racedude and John Vito finished their detour first and opened their clue to find the next pit stop, as they took of in a taxi the rest continued to compete on their detours. Racedude and John Vito won the leg with a huge lead, even if they didnt win anything Racedude cockily said Someone please win the next leg besides us, thanks Tarfan 1 and Gretchen finished their detour next with Genius and Kris close behind, as both teams raced to catch a taxi Tarfan1 commented about Racedude and John Vito:

Im trying to beat them (laughs) but they are just too good! while Gretchen excitedly commented on the record it would be if they came second this time around! Indeed they came second, meanwhile Kris and Genius found themselves lost in their way to the pitstop, getting of from the taxi both asked for directions which a nice woman gave to their taxi driver, however this small mistake lend Peetah and Aaron slide ahead and grab third place making Genius and Kris to settle for fourth.

Meanwhile JP AND Mirna finished their detour minutes after Heather and Charla, in a close race to the finish line JP and Mirna beated Charla and Heather claiming fifth and sixth places respectively. Once again Littleboy and Mary were asked to go to the pit stop were they were informed they were once again saved from elimination but being marked for elimination.

Leg 9

Teams begin with the following amount of points:
RaCeDuDe and John Vito 5.9
TARfan1 and Gretchen 11.0
Peetah and Aaron 12.0
Genius and Kris 12.5
JP and Mirna 13.4
Heather and Charla 14.2
LittleBoy and Mary 16.7

Clue: Fly to Bangkok, Thailand. Once there drive to the Temple of Dawn for your next clue.

Team Task: Find a flight from to Bangkok, Thailand. You may fly out of Marseille, Montpellier or Lyon. All of these locations are in France. It is up to you but the flight must leave on Friday, January 12th, 2007. Any time during the day is fine (Paris time I think it 6 hours later than EST). It must be economy seats and be for two people. PM me the information along with a link to the webpage.

NOTE: YOU ARE ABLE TO CHANGE FLIGHTS IF YOU FIND SOMETHING BETTER. YOU JUST MUST PM ME AGAIN WITH THE NEW FLIGHT SOMETIME BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10TH AT 10:00 PM EST
