POPO'S TARFC - WINNER REVEALED

Welcome to the very first season of Popo's The Amazing Race Fantasy Challenge! Grin

How to sign-up?

You will need to form into teams of 2 with any forumsnet members in order to run this race. Once you have decided who you want to go onto the race with, put your names on the sign-up list below.

Why sign-up?

Teams will go on a route never seen before, the tasks are completely designed by me and if you want loads of fun and excitement, you got to join this game!

Points System

In this game, youll race against time. You aim is to check-in to the pitstop within the shortest amount of time, because if you are last, you will be eliminated.

Depending on when a team finishes the Harder Detour, they get the following minutes added to their time:
1st: 10
2nd: 13
3rd: 15
4th: 18
5th: 21
6th: 24
7th: 27
8th: 30
9th: 33
10th: 36
11th: 39

Depending on when a team finishes the Easier Detour, they get the following minutes added to their time:

1st: 15
2nd: 20
3rd: 25
4th: 30
5th: 35
6th: 40
7th: 45
8th: 50
9th: 55
10th: 60
11th: 65

If any team fail to complete the Detour task, they will be automatically smacked with a 4 hour time penalty.

Depending on when a team finishes the Roadblock, they get the following minutes added to their time:

1st: 20
2nd: 22
3rd: 24
4th: 26
5th: 28
6th: 30
7th: 32
8th: 34
9th: 36
10th: 38
11th: 40

If any team fail to complete the Roadblock task, they will be automatically smacked with a 4 hour time penalty.

There will be other ways to lose and gain minutes as well while during the course of the race.

- Taking a taxi rather than walking or taking a train or bus.
- Buying a map
- Not following instructions, wrong information given.
- Not enough money to pay for what you need
- Driving in the wrong direction
- Vehicle breakdown (Yes, unlucky situation like this will happen on my race)

These are just some of the examples of things that will be happening on this race that will cause you to gain or lose minutes. There will be many more unexpected things that will happen on this race, but you'll have to wait to find out more.

Detour

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons.

Teams must first decide which task they would like to do. To complete the Detour task, both team members have to complete it (in this case, both team members have to send in the correct answers to me via instant messaging) before they will receive their next clue.

Roadblock

A Roadblock is a task which only one team member may perform. However, no team member can do more than 7 Roadblocks in the entire race.

Teams must first decide who should do their Roadblock for their team. After they have decided, the team member will have to complete the Roadblock task before they will receive their next clue.

Fast Forward

A Fast Forward allows teams to skip all tasks and proceed directly to the Pitstop. However, a team can only claim the Fast Forward once throughout the entire course of the race. There are 2 Fast Forwards in the entire game.

Yield

Any team who choose to Yield another team at the Yield Point will have the Yielded team assessed a 30 minutes penalty.

However, a team can only use their Yield Power once throughout the entire course of the race. There will however, be no limit to the number of times a team can be Yielded. There are 3 Yield Points in the entire game.

Intersection

The Intersection requires each team to pair up with one other team and perform all tasks and make decisions together until further notice. Should there be no other teams present when a given team arrives at the Intersection Route Marker, they must wait there until another team arrives. Teams are free to choose their partner team if multiple teams are present.

There are 2 Intersection Points in the entire game.

I hope Ive made this clear enough. Please post your doubts on this thread and hopefully youll be able to find a partner which you can go onto this race with. If you are unsure who you want to go with, please feel free to request for a partner on this thread and hopefully you will be quickly paired up with someone else and be able to put down your names on the sign-up list!

I will need 10 teams of 2, and you do not have to have a pre-existing relationship to run this race. Lol!

Signups will be left open till i have 10 teams of 2.

Mr O, that's a very good strategy. Never thought about it. But i don't think it will help much cause afterall you still need to seek the decision from your partner on what to do.

JP, both team members have to complete the Detour (in this case send in the required answer to me via PM) before they actually finish the Detour task. So i think the Detour task is the only task both team members will have to perform. (Which is like the real race)

Whereas for the RB, each team member can only do 6 on the entire race, so basically there's only this limited amount of RB that a team member can do without the consult of the team member.

For little clues such as the decision to buy a map, hire a taxi to lead you to the next direction and so on, it would of course be good if both team members consult each other to make a decision. But normally, only one team member is required to make this decision which doesn't give you any time bonus for being the first to make the decision after i post the task on the thread. So you can actually take your time and discuss with your teammate either on PM or on the thread itself and decide on what you should do for each little task.

That's about it.

PS: I'm at the airport now typing all these and JP's avatar with Hippies X'mas hat is making a little girl here laugh.
