Leg 6 Summary

Compliments of Alexander

Departing twelve hours after their arrival to the pit stop JP and Mirna discovered they had to sign up for one of two chart planes to take them to Munich, Germany, with everyone close behind JP and Mrna hurried to sign up for the first flight, along with them were Racedude and John Vito, Popo and Marion, Littleboy and Mary and el sheik and Chip who were on a rush as they were marked for elimination, the rest of the teams settled down for the second flight 45 minutes behind.

Arriving to Germany teams on the first flight discovered the second forward on the race, in this fast forward teams had to find a surfer riding a standing wave and attract his attention so he can give the team the fast forward clue. Teams not going for the Fast Forward had to take a train to Innbruck, Austria, once there teams had to make their way to Annasule, to get their next clue.

Choosing not to go for the Fast Forward teams raced to the train as the plane containing the rest of the teams touched ground, Marion and Popo and Littleboy and Mary were the ones who caught the first train. Meanwhile John Vito and Racedude settled for the second train along with three teams from the second plane: Gretchen and Tarfan1, Peetah and Aaron and Alexander and Kellie.

El sheik and Chip and JP and Mirna (both whom got lost on their way to the train station) settled for the last train along with Charla and Heather. Genius and Kris had decided to try out for the Fast Forward.

The train ride was peaceful and there was no disturbing, however every team knew a yield was coming near by, somehow the second train arrived there before even the other two trains, as teams made their way towards the yielding mat, the third train arrived; the location for the first train was unknown for all.Racedude and John Vito raced the other teams and got there first choosing no to yield, Alexander and Kellie followed suit; Peetah and Aaron choose to save their yield as well as Gretchen and Tarfan1.

Knowing Chip and el sheik were using their yield JP and Mirna raced them to the mat and managed to arrive first, choosing not to yield they stepped off and el sheik and Chip yielded Popo.

Teams next found a Detour, in this detour teams had to choose between Sled or Skate. In Sled teams had to go to an Olympic bobsled track and ride along with a team of bobsledders. Traveling at 65 mph was scary, but teams could finish quickly.
In Skate, teams had to go to an Olympic ice rink and run a skating relay with a pair of skaters.

Choosing Sled Chip and el sheik hoped they could make up some time as they knew the pit stop was closer. Alexander had a rough time at the sleds as he felt they were too fast, meanwhile Kellie cheered him to be brave. When their yield time ended Popo and Marion hurried into the sled and raced along the rest to finally finish the task first, opening their clue Popo and Marion found a roadblock.

In this Roadblock the chosen team member must put on safety equipment and descend 230 feet on rescue cable from a gondola to receive their next clue. As they got ready for the roadblock, other teams started finishing their detour, leading the skaters Lttleboy and Mary and Racedude and John Vito managed to catch up with Popo and Marion and JP and Mirna.
Heather and Charla and Tarfan1 and Gretchen caught up next, leaving just three teams at the detour, Racedude once again proved his strength at roadblocks as he finished first while the rest struggled around, the other three teams caught up at the Roadblock and with Kellies cheering Alexander managed to finish second with Charla just seconds behind.

Opening their clue Charla and Heather discovered they had to drive 70 miles to the town of Fussen, Germany. Once there they had to go to the meadow below the Newschwanstein castle to check in.

With el sheik and JP finishing the roadblocks respectively the teams started to race to the pit stop. Genius and Kris were just arriving after they claimed the fast forward, as the winners of the leg they won two Kodak EasyShare digital cameras.
Racedude and John Vito managed to keep the lead they gained at the Roadblock and arrived second.

JP and Mirna settled down for third while Popo and Marion surprised themselves in fourth after being yielded. Alexander and Kellie managed a fifth place finish and Littleboy and Mary finished sixth. El sheik and Chip were relieved when they found out they had got there in seventh, but their relief turned into concern when the host asked them to step off the mat and wait for their penalty to start flowing.

This unlucky event allowed Gretchen and Tarfan1 to slip into seventh and Charla and Heather to take eight, with just 18 minutes left Peetah and Aaron arrived to the pit stop and checked in on ninth, thus making el sheik and Chip the eliminated team.

Clue: Take a train to Rome, Italy. Once there make your way to Trevi Fountain for your next clue.

Clue: A long living tradition here at Trevi Fountain is coin throwing. Over 3000 coins are thrown into the fountain each day. However, you will not be partaking in this tradition. Instead you will need to search the surrounding area for a box with a coin. You must not open this box until told to. Once you find a box, make your way to the Spanish Steps for your next clue.
