I love musicals - our favorite is Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  I also love My Fair Lady, the King and I, Brigadoon, ... ok, pretty much you sing the script, I'll watch it.. LOL.

Cool The Music Man  Cool

It has to be my all time favorite musical. Was there a better con man than Robert Preston?

The last movies we rented were "The Aviator" and "National Treasure".  Visually, Aviator was great, we just didn't like the movie.  That might have been because it was about Howard Hughes decline into insanity and was depressing in that way.   NT was very entertaining.

Musicals were always my favorites.   When I was growing up, they made a lot of them.  My DH doesn't care that much for them, but he did enjoy Seven Brides.   I bought "Singin' in the Rain".  I watched it over and over when it was new.  I worked as cashier at a movie theater, and when the box office closed, I was in there watching.   Everyone should remember Donald O'Conner's dance where he ran up the furniture and walls, and at the end went through the wall.

Last night I watched a movie that Rachael reccomended.  Garden State.  It was a kind of quircky coming of age movie.  If you like Natalie Portman it is a must see.  The male lead is Andrew Largeman.  Braff plays the lead and is also the writer and director.  I thought he has an amazing resemblence to Ray Ramano.

Rachel,
I am a musical freak!!!  My favorites are Sound of Music, South Pacific,  and my all time favorite, Brigadoon!!!!

I would have to say "Singin' In The Rain" is a favorite, since my friend and I sang it for a Choral Test when in 7th Grade and we have the DVD.  I also bought it for my Granddaughter as a Christmas Present, along with "Grease".

"South Pacific"  another BIG favorite Cool

"Finding Neverland" was a good movie.

Today, we're going to watch (on DVD) the original "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."  The kid who plays Charlie in that movie is now a dairy veterinarian and very happy with life.

I have always wanted to see that movie again. I think it is almost 10 years since the last/first time I saw it. It was a great movie.

I was thinking about the Sound of Music all night last night, so I popped it in while I've been packing all day. I can't get "I Am Sixteen" out of my head!
