Kris and Jon and Tara and Wil were 1st to arrive at 4.13pm and will depart at 4.13am.

Tara
Fly 6300 miles to Cairo, Egypt. Then go to the Cairo Museum and find King Tut's tomb.

Kris
I'm confident we can win this.

Colin and Jonathan and the cousins departed 3rd at 4.38am, while Heather/JP and Reichen/Ann departed 5th at 4.42am.

Heather
I'm glad Charla and Mirna are part of our alliance again.

Adam/Kendra and Eliza Chris departed 7th at 4.59am. Rob/Jenna and Clay/Diana departed 9th at 7.01am.

Getting to Africa from South America ain't easy.

1st flight to arrive-- Sao Paulo (SP) - Frankfurt - Cairo 2.45pm : Jonathan and Colin

2nd flight-- SP- London - Cairo 4.15pm : Tara and Wil and Kris and Jon

3rd flight -- SP- NYC- Cairo 4.34pm : Camp Forum

4th flight -- SP - Munich - Cairo 5.32pm : Adam/Kendra

Last flight -- SP - Paris - Cairo 6.10pm : Eliza/Chris, Rob/Jenna and Clay/Diana.

Unfortunately, Clay had a bad fall and had to be sent to the clinic, and they missed their flight. They had to settle for a flight arriving at 1.40am via London, putting them 11 hours behind Colin/Jonathan.

Colin/Jonathan were 1st at the Museum and discovered a Yield, but did not use it. They opened the clue and discovered a FF, which they decided to use.

Cedric
This is 1st of several FFs in the entire race. To claim this FF, teams have to go to the nearby souq and obtain bandages. Then they have to return to the museum and wrap themselves in bandages and march round the museum. Then the supervisor will give them the next clue.

Soon, the two men found themselves covered with bandages.

Jonathan
I want my mummy!!!

They marched around and received their clue.

Colin
Drive a marked car to the next pit stop, the entrance of the Aswan Dam.

Kris and Jon were 2nd at the clue and realized they have to drive themselves to the Sphinx. Tara and Wil arrived 3rd and dashed off in hot pursuit. Camp Forum were next and darted off in the same direction. At the Sphinx, Kris and Jon discovered a Detour. They had a lot of money, and decided to Pay-and-Go.

Drive to your next destination, the entrance of the Valley of the Kings in Luxor to find your next clue.

Kris
Egypt is so fun!!

Tara/Wil chose the Mystery Detour.

Wil
Walk to the nearby Osiris Shaft. One person will descend into it to retrieve the puzzle pieces, while the other person will piece the puzzle together.

Adam and Kendra's plane arrived, currently in 7th place.

Adam
Kendra, we are SOOOOOOOOOO far behind.

Kendra
Stop being such a wussboy and maybe no one will notice.

Camp Forum decided which of the 2 choices is better: We are Going Too Fast vs We are Going Too Slow

Reichen
In the 1st one, ride a sand buggy across the desert. It's faster, but the distance is longer.

Charla
Ride a camel across the desert. It's slower, but the distance is shorter.

The 3 teams chose to ride camels. Charla is having a good time.

Look! I'm Lawerance of Arabia.

Heather
Yikes! My camel's broken.

Tara gets into the shaft and retrieves the puzzle pieces, while Wil pieces them together to form the flag of Egypt.

Tara
This race showed us that we can work together.

The pair departed the place in 3rd place, heading to Luxor. Adam/Kendra arrived at the museum just as Eliza/Chris and Rob/Jenna touched down. Camp Forum completed the Detour with ease and raced to Luxor tied for 4th place. Adam/Kendra arrived 6th at the detour (excluding Colin/Jon) and chose the buggies. They finished the task, just as Eliza/Chris arrived at the detour 7th, with Rob/Jenna close behind. Both teams chose the buggies and drove off to Luxor.

Two men approached the pit stop.

Colin and Jonathan, you're team #1. You won a trip to Senegal.

Jonathan
Oh good, I can give candy to those kids again. I love kids!!!

Kris/Jon arrived at the Valley of the Kings at nearly 12am and ripped open the clue.

Kris
Roadblock. Who has the flair for languages?

Kris volunteered.

Jon
You have to translate the final clue for this leg from hieroglyphics into English using a certain translation table.

Kris translated the text carefully, and completed it within 10 mins.

Kris
Drive your car to the city of Aswan and find the Aswan Dam, the pit stop for this leg.

Tara/Wil arrived at the same time as Camp Forum. Tara, Heather, Mirna and Ann volunteered. It was a tight race to decipher the clue. In a matter of minutes, they finished it and raced to the Pit Stop.

Meanwhile, Clay/Diana touched down in Cairo, but discovered the Museum only opened at 9am. Adam volunteered the RB, as did Jenna and Chris.

Tara and Wil, you're team #3.

Colin and Jonathan, who were 1st to arrive at 11.36pm, will depart at 11.36am, armed with 1 more dollar.

Jonathan
Drive yourselves back to Cairo and head to the top of the Cairo Tower.

Kris and Jon departed 2nd at 5.18pm. Tara and Wil departed 3rd at 6.24pm. By that time, the 2 men ripped open the clue in Cairo.

Colin
Travel by plane to Athens, Greece and find the Acropolis.

Heather and JP departed 4th at 6.39pm, Reichen and Ann 5th at 6.41pm and the cousins 6th at 6.42pm. Adam and Kendra departed 7th at 7.19pm.

Colin and Jonathan booked a flight to Athens, arriving at 11.45pm in Athens.

Eliza and Chris departed 8th at 7.45pm, with Rob/Jenna were 1 minute behind.

They were in airport in Athens, just as Kris and Jon found the clue, before the tower closed at midnight. All remaining teams had to camp outside the tower until it opens at 9am. Kris and Jon booked a flight arriving at 8.55am in Athens. Colin and Jonathan found the Acropolis won't open till 9am.

9am, teams went their respective destinations. Colin and Jonathan led the pack with their new clue.

Jonathan
Get into a taxi and go to the Olympic Stadium in Athens.

Tara and Wil snagged tickets on a flight arriving in Athens at 11.59am. Camp Forum and Adam/Kendra got seats on a flight arriving 12.30pm. Eliza and Chris and Rob/Jenna got on a flight arriving 12.42pm.

Colin/Jon arrived at the stadium, just as Kris/Jon are 2nd at the Acropolis.

Colin
Roadblock. Who's feeling hot?

Colin volunteered.

Cedric
That team member has to take part in an event called a Hot Rocket Bungee. Upon completion, the supervisor will give the next clue.

Colin was shot into the air.

Colin was panting. Jonathan read the next clue.

Follow the marked arrows to your next clue, just nearby.

They arrived at a swimming pool, and discovered a detour. Without looking at it, they chose Pay-and-Go and were directed to the yield, which they chose not to use.

Colin
Go to an internet cafe in downtown Athens and log on to America Online and print out your next clue.

Kris and Jon arrived 2nd at the RB, where Kris performed the RB.

The team made their way to the Detour: Wet or Dry

Kris
In Wet, you have to perform a 500x2 m relay swim.

Jon
In Dry, choose a bike each and ride on a marked course.

They decide to swim.

Colin and Jonathan arrived at the internet cafe and printed their clue, just as Tara and Will touched down.

Colin
Go to the next pit stop, National Gardens.

Kris/Jon finished the swim and decided not yield and headed for the Internet cafe. Tara/Wil arrived at the Acropolis 3rd, just as the plane carrying Camp Forum and Adam/Kendra touched down. The plane carrying eliza and chris and rob and jenna landed. Tara/Wil arrived at the RB, which Tara volunteered. Meanwhile

Cedric
Colin and Jonathan, for the 3rd time in this race, you're team #1. You won a trip to Chernobyl, Ukraine.

They couldn't be more overjoyed. Tara/Wil walked to the detour, Adam/Kendra arrived 4th at the Acropolis ahead of Camp Forum, while Kris/Jon printed out the clue and headed for the pit stop.

I really don't care about getting to the pitstop 1st, Iwe will be so busy figuring out how to spend our $1,000,000 we won't have time for the vacations! Grin

Fly to Zurich, Switzerland and find the Swiss National Museum.

The 2 managed to squeeze on a flight departing at 1.20am.

Kris/Jon departed 2nd at 1.18am, feeling confident. Tara/Wil were 3rd at 2.56am. Adam/Kendra were 4th at 3.38am, Charla/Mirna 5th at 3.51am, Reichen/Ann 6th at 3.54am and Heather/JP 7th at 3.55am.

We are hanging on. We gonna win.

Rob/Jenna departed last at 4.55am, worried. Colin/Jon are camping outside the Museum. All team found a flight arriving at 9.00am repectively, the opening of the Museum.

Colin/Jon ripped open the clue and discovered a RB.

In this RB, that team member has to go to a nearby chocolate factory and pack 7500 chocolates into boxes. After that, he/she has to sell 10 boxes at US$10 each to collect the next clue. Teams are allowed to keep the money earned.

Jonathan volunteered and started packing. Colin tried to get him to work faster.

Heather/JP and Tara/Wil arrived at the clue in 2nd place, with the cousins and Reichen/Ann close behind. Kris/Jon arrived just b4 Adam/Kendra and Rob/Jenna. Heather, Wil, Charla, Ann, Jon, Adam and Jenna chose to perform the RB.

Hey look! It's Charla and the Chocolate Factory!!

Jonathan finished the packing, and with his sweetalking and entreprenuial skills, he quickly persuaded ppl to buy the chocolates and completed the task. He and Colin discovered the yield but decided not to exercise their yield power.

Jonathan
Travel by bus to Bahnhofstrasse and search for a bank vault.

The other Jon, Jenna and Wil finished the packing and started selling. Soon 7 ppl were selling chocos on the street. Jon finished his tasks ahead of the others, and departed. Everyone soon finished as the lead team arrives at its destination.

Colin
Detour: Stationary or Moving

Cedric
In Stationary, teams will be given a bowl full of money and have to count the Swiss currency, and use the amount to unlock the safe containing the clue. Tedious, but next to the vault. In Moving, teams have to assemble a Swiss Army bike, then both members have to ride 10km to a certain location to ask for the code from a local waiting for them, before cycling back.

They chose bikes, and nearly completed that phase just as the other teams arrived. Only Rob/Jenna chose to count the money. Colin and Jonathan mounted on their bikes and started cycling. The cousins started their journey next 25 mins later. Rob/Jenna got an answer but it was wrong. Colin/Jon got the code 281523 and turned back, meeting up with their competitors. The guys punched in that number and got their clue.

Colin
Travel by train to Geneva and locate the EU Headquarters.

Heather/JP arrived next and received their next clue. Rob/Jenna completed the task 3rd and sped off to the train station. Colin/Jonathan and Heather/JP got on a train arriving at 3.10pm, while the others were on another one arriving at 3.55pm.

For the 1st time in the race, Heather/JP led the pack, with a jealous Colin/Jonathan right behind. JP read his next clue.

JP
Check in at the next pit stop, Jet D'eau.

The 2 teams sped off, and their taxis arrived near the fountain at the same time. Colin/Jon were ahead as they left their backpacks in the cab, with Heather/JP stubbornly carried theirs.

Heather, drop your bag!! NOW!!!

They dropped their backpacks, but lost the footrace.

The other teams alighted from the train and rushed to the next destinations. It was a really close call.
