Welcome to my first ever Online Game! This is called The Amazing Race Prediction Game. This is a competition where people will try to predict the outcome of each episode of my favorite show, The Amazing Race (TAR). You get points by answering a question correctly. Each week, we rank the members according to their total season score, and whoever has the highest score by the end of the season, wins! Well, there's no price for winning this game but bragging rights and online popularity. Wink

The game is explained thoroughly (I hope) in the Rules section. Please check it out!

Game Rules and Information

Membership
You may only have one account for this game. I will know if you are trying to play with two accounts. Let us be honest!

The information you provided for this site will in no way be used in any other way or be given away to other parties. I may use your email address once in a while to send you messages concerning our game. Your passwords are md5 encrypted and cannot be retrieved. If you forgot your password, please check the Support page to see ways of contacting me. I will give you a new password in case you lost your original one.

Season Pick
Each member, upon registration, are required to select a "Season Pick". A Season Pick is important so that you can earn bonus points per Round. Tip: choose a Team that you think will perform well in this season of TAR.

Rounds
Each Round is equal to one week or one episode of The Amazing Race 8. There will be 8 questions per round, but this may vary as we go along.

Scoring
Each question that you answered correctly will give you 10 points. If your Season Pick/Team was not eliminated during the Round, you will get a 10 point bonus. If your Team got eliminated during the Round, you will get a one time bonus of 100 points. However, you will not get Season Pick bonus points anymore in the succeeding rounds.

If your Season Pick/Team is one of the Final 3 teams, you will get bonus points depending on their finish this season. If your Season Pick wins TAR8, you will get 400 bonus points. If your Pick finishes in 2nd place, you will get 300 bonus points. Third place Season Picks will earn you 200 bonus points. Note: the one time bonus of 100 points is already included in the bonus points you will get if your team is in the Final 3.

Your Total Season Score is the total points you accumulated during past Rounds. Each week/Round, we will rank members by their Total Season Score. By the end of the season, whoever has the highest total score wins!

OMG I found a bug in my program! When a user updates their picks, EVERYONE's pick are updated! Cry

I just realized, i could never win this game. Genius might be the ultimate winner though... but Chris might have chances too...

I just read through the post on this topic and realized i lead four times consecutively in this whole game...

I was just wondering, next time if there's another prediction game, can the questions be worth 20 points instead? Because if your season pick is eliminated due early, you will never ever win this whole thing. And more questions can also be posted to let us gain more points too! Questions that changes as the game goes on... Something like "Will the pitstop greeter be a male or female" and "Will any of the Godlewskis sister be wearing pink" =)

Anyway, great game! I'm so enjoying it =)

Yea, Chris might win this.

I think the final bonus points for the Final 3 teams are too big. Next time, I'll probably change it too 150-200-250 so that people who's season picks were eliminated can catch up.

I don't know if I can come up with 20 questions! lol We might as well rank each team.

Sometimes even things like "Will Linda Weaver be seen praying on this leg" or "Will the Godlewskis sister quarrel among themselves" or even "Will Marion Paolo be seen screaming on this leg" can be set as questions. Sounds fun huh? =)

The problem with all that is I have to watch out too if Linda Weaver will cry, or if DJ Paolo will say I love you to his mom. It'll be too easy to miss something like that. I rather we stick to questions that we can easily verify/prove. But I'll increase the number of questions.
