The Amazing Race 8 Voting Game - WINNER REVEALED
« on: Nov 22nd, 2005, 7:02am »

In this game, each round you will rank the teams in the order you want them to receive points. The team you rank as number 1 will get the most points and the team you rank last will get the least amount of points.

Every week, you will rank the teams from 1st to last and the team with the lowest points each week would be eliminated.

For example, this would be my ranking for the teams if i were to rank them from 1st to last.

1. Godlewski
2. Gaghen
3. Rogers
4. Paolo
5. Schroeder
6. Bransen
7. Linz
8. Black
9. Aiello
10. Weaver

On certain legs with Fast Forward and Yield, you will vote to decide who will win the FF or get Yielded. A team that has been Yielded will lose 10% of their total points for that leg of the race.

Points will not be accumulated. However, the winner for the leg of the race will get an extra 10% of the score they had on their winning leg which could be added to their points next leg.

In the event of any tie, and only in the event of a tie, I will put in my own rankings and votes to break the tie

New round will start after i update the results. There should be around 3-5 days for voting each round.

Everybody all set? Excellent. Voting for leg one (New York to Lancaster) is now officially open. I will keep voting open for seven days, so you have until Sunday to get your rankings in.

Cool If you have any questions, you can feel free to ask them on this board :p

The Amazing Race 8 : What If? Leg 1 Results!

At the New York Harbor, Phil greeted the ten families, made up of four members, all ready to begin the THE AMAZING RACE adventure. After Phil's traditional eyebrow raise and arm signal, the Teams frantically dashed to their first clue waiting alongside their bags.

Teams must now travel in their car to find the Eastern Mountain Sports Store for their next clue.

Linda Weaver : Oh god, please help us find the correct place.
God : Don't bother me, i'm taking a nap. But i'll just help you this once.
*transport them to Eastern Mountain Sports Store*
Weavers : *shrieks of excitement* We found the place! *things tumble down from shelves*

All the next 9 teams found the Eastern Mountain Sports Store with little difficulty except the Paolos.

DJ Paolo : Now Mom, can you just shut up and let me read the map?
Tony Paolo : A New Yorker gets lost in Manhattan. What a day!
DJ Paolo : This is disgraceful! We're so stupid!
Marion Paolo : I'm so proud of you DJ! For so many years, you finally realized we are stupid.
Tony Paolo : Oh just shut up and let me concentrate on driving.

After several arguements and bruises, the Paolos finally arrived at Eastern Mountain Sports Store and received their next clue.

Teams must now find a Hot Dog Stand on 91st Street to receive their next clue.

The Linz Family arrived first and Megan hopped out of their car to receive their next clue from Kevin and Drew, from TAR 1.

Megan Linz : Drive 97 miles through New Jersey into Pennsylvania and find Washington Crossing Historic Park where George Washington made his famous crossing of the Delaware River.

All teams arrived at the Hot Dog Stand and received their next clue.

The Godlewskis, Linz and and Gaghen family did not have maps and were lost, allowing the other teams to catch up with them.

Arriving at Washington Crossing Historic Park in first place, the father and sons-in-law Aiello family opened their clue to learn they had to choose a rowboat to cross the Delaware River into New Jersey, retrieve a 13-star flag, and row the boat back to the Pennsylvania shore to observe a flag folding ceremony to earn their next clue.

Carrisa Gaghen : Mom, do you think we'll be eliminated?
Tammy Gaghen : No, just relax a bit, we'll find the place sooner or later.
Carrisa Gaghen : But i don't see any bridges or rivers.... do you think we are really lost?
*carrisa looks around with her shifty sharp eyes*
Carrisa Gaghen : Mom! I see it! It's just right there!
Bill Gaghen : Good job Carrisa!

After crossing back to the Pennsylvania side of the river, the Aiello family handed over their flag for the folding ceremony and received their next clue instructing them to drive 34 miles to Philadelphia and find Belmont Plateau where they would be camping for the night. Once there, Teams needed to pitch their tents as quickly as possible as the order of completion would determine which of three departure times they would receive: 10 am, 10:30 am or 11 am.

The Schroeder Family is still stuck in the traffic with some of the other teams

Mark Schroeder : Too bad we don't have any handicapped children we could push into traffic to block traffic to help us get ahead.
Stassi Schroeder : Dad! How can you say that? It's already a misfortune for us that we have Hunter with us on this race!
Hunter Schroeder : Oh, just shut up.

All teams arrived and observed the flag folding ceremony and received their next clue.

The Aiellos, Gaghen and Bransens pitched their tents and received the 10am departure time.

The Schroeders, Rogers, Godlewski settled for the 10.30am departure time.

The Linz, Paolos, Black and Weaver Family settled for the 11am departure time.

The next morning, the ten Teams woke up to a heavy rain beating down on them as the Aiellos, Gaghans and Bransens opened their clue instructing them to drive 92 miles to Mount Joy, Pennsylvania to find the Brubaker family farm.

Arriving at the Brubaker farm in first place, the Aiellos opened their clue to find the race's first Detour. In this Detour, Teams had to choose between Build It and Buggy It. In Build It, Teams needed to use the materials provided to build a miniature working watermill. While not physically demanding, proper assembly could take a long time. In Buggy It, Teams had to transport a traditional Amish buggy along a 1.5-mile course with two team members riding in it. While physically demanding, Teams with enough muscle could finish quickly.

Carrisa Gaghen : Mom, we can do Buggy It!
Billy Gaghen : Yeah, we're not physically heavy and both of you can pull us!
Bill Gaghen : Ok, we'll do Buggy It.

The Aiellos chose to do Buggy It too, and were soon watching their lead run away as the Gaghen Family past them and reached half-way point of the course.

With the arrival of most Teams, the race to finish the Detour was in full swing.

Billy and Carissa : *singing* "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain,"
Carissa : *singing with additional high note* We just past the Aiellos~!

The Godlewskis and Schroeder tried to gain ground on the Weavers building the watermill, while the seventh place Black family arrived to join in the construction, followed by the Rogers and Linz, and the Paolos in last place.

Megan Linz : Which detour should we do?
Nick Linz : Look at us! We have MUSCLES and we are STRONG.
Megan Linz : Fine, let's do Buggy It!

With astonishing and amazing speed, the Linz family pulled their Buggy quickly and caught up with the Godlewski and the Schroeder family who just completed their Build It! Detour and received their next clue.

Drive yourselves 17 miles to the Rohrer Family Farm on Blue Rock Road in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The Linz, Godlewski and Schroeder raced to the Pit-stop, with the Gaghens hot on their heels who had also just finished their Detour.

All teams are now driving to the Pit-stop, with the Black family finishing last and driving out from their Detour place.

The Aiellos, who lost their lead at the detour, were terribly lost on their drive to the Pit-stop. The Rogers and Weavers couldn't find correct directions to guide them to the Pit-stop.

Marion Paolo : How can we ever find that Pitstop with us quarrelling all the time.
DJ Paolo : Mom, now is not the best time to discuss this.
Marion Paolo : Why not?
DJ Paolo : Mom, just keep quiet and let us find the directions on this map.
Tony Paolo : *snatch maps over* Now just shut the hell up and i'll find the direction myself.
*and the bickering continues*

Linda Weaver : God, please.. we are so lost! Help us find our way!
God : I've already helped you once, and i'm currently taking my bath, if you could just excuse me for several minutes...
Weavers : *shrieking* GOD! HELP! US!
God : *with shower foam all over* I'll consider.

Tricia Godlewski : I see the Pitstop!
Sharon Godlewski : I see it too!
Tricia Godlewski : Is that a team behind us?
Sharon Godlewski : YES! It's the Schroeders! *screams*

Mark Schroeder : Honey, speed up a little... we might catch up with the girls.
Hunter Schroeder : Dad, the school teaches us not to speed on highways
Stassi Schroeder : We are now on a race, the school did teach you what a race means, don't they?
Hunter Schroeder : I'll have to recall...

Ultimately, one team drive in at the Rohrer Family Farm on Blue Rock Road in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and ran to the Pit-stop.

Phil: Godlewski Family, with 540 points, you’re team number one. In addition, you'll also have 54 points added to your total scores next week.

Phil: Schroeder Family, with 520 points, you’re team number two.
Hunter Schroeder : Now i remember what the school teaches us... the school...
Char Schroeder : Shut your pie-hole!
Phil : *looks astonished*

Phil: Gaghen Family, with 510 points, you’re team number three.
Carrisa Gaghen : *beams with delight*

Phil: Linz Family, with 500 points, you’re team number four.

Phil: Bransen Family, with 460 points, you’re team number five.
Wally Bransen : Wow girls, we did fine!

Phil: Paolo Family, with 340 points, you’re team number six.
Tony Paolo : *jumps in exciement andhugs Phil* WE THOUGHT WE ARE DEAD LAST!
Phil: *slightly pushes Tony away politely* I'm not your wife. *sighs*

Phil: Aiello Family, with 270 points, you’re team number seven.
Phil: Looks like you guys finally completed that Detour...

Phil: Rogers Family, with 230 points, you’re team number eight.
Brock Rogers : Well, that's ok.
Brittney Rogers : Yea, it's better than being eliminated.

Phil: Black Family, with 220 points, you’re team number nine.

Phil: Weaver Family, with 210 points, you’re team number ten. I’m not sorry at all to tell you you’ve been eliminated from the race.
Linda Weaver : It's all god fault! He took too long to decide whether to help us or not!
God : Hey hey, don't push all the blame on me. You have to depend on yourself to do well in the race. I can't be always here to help you guys teleport to different places.
Phil : *shocked by what is going on* Did i just see Jesus?

And so we continue on with the race. Leg two: Lancaster, PA to Middleburg, VA, is now open for voting. Voting will continue until Tuesday.

Current Race Position :
1st - Godlewski Family
2nd - Schroeder Family
3rd - Gaghen Family
4th - Linz Family
5th - Bransen Family
6th - Paolo Family
7th - Aiello Family
8th - Rogers Family
9th - Black Family
ELIMINATED : Weaver Family
