As we all know, a lot of who wins TAR is based on luck. So, I have made up six cards, some are good and some are bad. I will randomly draw out a card and a team name and place them together. For example: I just pulled Karen/Kelly out of one hat. Then I pulled out a card that said, "A local helps this team to the Pitstop. Add 2 points." So, Karen/Kelly's mean score is raised from 5.4 points, to 7.4 points. Once I've done this with all the teams, the team with the lowest mean score MAY get eliminated. I will choose whether or not this is an elimination from yet another hat. I won't post the results for a little bit longer, so, while you're waiting please let me know that you understand this twist. If anything is unclear, please let me know! Thanks!

Once teams reached Mumbai they were instructed to fly to Bamako, Mali. There was only one flight to Bamako and all teams boarded that flight. Upon arrival in Bamako teams purchased tickets on one of two buses to Timbuktu, one of the most remote cities on Earth. The first bus left at 11:24 AM. On it were Derek/Jenna and Kelly/Karen. The second bus left at 1: 19 PM. Charla/Ethan, Lill/Brian, Rupert/Rudy, and Neleh/Gretchen were on it. The cramped bus ride lasted 27 hours and teams were surrounded by livestock and "sketchy" locals as Jenna put it. No meals were served on the bus, so at fuel stops teams begged for food. Upon arrival, teams raced through a detour and a roadblock toward the Pitstop.

Here are the results:

1st Place: Derek and Jenna: 8.9 points
2nd Place: Karen and Kelly: 7.4 points
3rd Place: Charla and Ethan: 6.5 points
4th Place: Neleh and Gretchen: 6 points
5th Place: Brian and Lill: 5.4 points
Last Place and the First Team eliminated from the Race: Rudy/Rupert: 2.8 points

Please tell me if you like this idea of eliminating teams, what you thought of elimination, the stories I make up about the Racers (whether or not they're stupid), and suggestions for the next location.
